The Socialist Party USA is the successor to the Socialist Party of America, the most prominent Socialist organization in U.S. history.

SPUSA is non-sectarian and multi-tendency, meaning that it does not base its ideas on any one particular theorist and welcomes members with various philosophies and views of the world. The party rejects dogma and promotes internal debate on strategy. Anyone who supports the party’s principles is encouraged to participate with SPUSA.

SPUSA has a comprehensive platform. The party runs candidates for local, state, and federal office.
