There are six SPUSA members enrolled in Baltimore City right now. The local chapter must maintain at least five active members at all times.

The basic rights and responsibilities of the local are to:

Maintain officers (chair, secretary, treasurer); establish bylaws; meet approximately every two months; approve new SPUSA members living in Baltimore; contact our members to promote SPUSA activities, working groups and commissions; submit a report on activities to SPUSA every four months.

Local or regional organizers or SPUSA National Committee members will be in contact.

The local can be part of the effort to establish a chartered state party. A state organization is typically made up of at least two locals or 10-12 at-large members.

The local is entitled to issue statements on behalf of the local chapter. The local can endorse candidates running as Socialists or other parties, under certain circumstances.

The local may establish its own social media accounts.
